A patio is often a wonderful spot to unwind through the warm times of spring, summer and autumn, or all year if you inhabit less chilly climes. At moments when the lawn might be too wet or even muck-filled, the solid floor of a terrace means one can sit in the outdoors even after heavy rain and make the most of the fresh air and the beautiful view of your garden. You might even turn your patio into a patio plot to cause it to be more intriguing.

One can turn the plainest of terraces into a patio plot with the good use of containers or outdoor planters. If you are heading out from nothing, then planning out and building (or having your patio designed and made) a brand new patio with  patio blocks, then it is worthwhile to give the plot aspect of the patio some forethought.

The point of the forethought is that you have an opportunity to create something incredibly special through negligible extra cost beyond the foundation laying along with the terrace floor. Here are just a small number of ideas to think about putting in at the design phase, so the terrace garden can be more than merely a level area of  concrete patio blocks.

Shading Scheme for the patio:
When planning a new patio it is best to consider the colour layout besides just the colour of the outdoor blocks. If you want a terrace garden, then you’ll need pots and planters to nurture the vegetables, flowers, or herbs in. Try to be certain that you can obtain pots or planters that merge in suitably with the colour of the blocks. For example, pale cinnamon stone bricks above may look quite nice, but are not so simple to meld in smoothly with environments, or find matching planters for.

Inherently gray  landscaping stones, on the other hand, is much easier to get appropriate plant containers for, and often have a much more natural appearance in the garden.

That isn’t to say patio blocks other than slate gray shouldn’t be used, but simply keep in mind the rest of the decor you will require to fit in to make the terrace garden attractive.
